3I enjoyed it but it's not up to the standard of most of the others.

I enjoyed it but it's not up to the standard of most of the others. The plot is a bit thin as far as his mate having lived in the Mexican fortress and knew the place like the back of his hand. The climax is a bit of an anti climax and the very end is a bit odd. Other reviews have mentioned that this one may have been ghost written and I wouldn't be surprised. I have read the first 15 Nick Stone books in about a month and have enjoyed most of them enough to give them four or five stars. They flow so easily. Not this one.

3Enjoyable, but who wrote this?
By Nick Hawke
I have read every preceding Nick Stone book and thoroughly enjoy them all. At times this one felt like it was written by someone else other then Andy McNab. It's interesting to see that a lot of other reviewers felt the same. Ghost writer I suppose. Quite early on I got the distinct feeling that the style of writing was different. I love Andy McNab's raw and clunky style; it's what make the books and the character so real, we dont need Nick to start being funny and witty. I've just bought the next book in the series and really hope it returns to the norm.

5Excellent!!
By Bookworm Karen !!
I feel sorry for Nick Stone because he really is the unluckiest man on the planet, when one nightmare is over a new appears straight away! How he has stayed alive all this time is astonishing, I know he is trained and has amazing skills but I think he is a bit jammy too!!!!I cannot recommend this series of books enough!!
